In practice, aren’t the lead plaintiffs really selected by the attorneys wanting to make big money off the class action? All too often, the original harmed parties are the shareholders, who when a company is sued are also the ones ending up footing the bill in the end. Somehow the attorneys make big bucks, but shareholders are doubly victimized, first by the alleged wrongdoing, second when their company foots the bill for lawyers.
