Cricket-Australia up for spin challenge, says Bailey

MIRPUR, Bangladesh, March 22 (Reuters) – Visiting teams have often found themselves tied up in tangles by the local tweakers on the sub-continental dustbowls, but Australia captain George Bailey asserted his team is up to the spin challenge in the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh.

Kohli helps India maintain World Cup record against Pakistan

MIRPUR, Bangladesh (Reuters) – India maintained their impeccable World Cup record against Pakistan after Virat Kohli’s fluent 36 not out powered them to a seven-wicket victory against the arch-rivals in a group two super 10 stage match of the World Twenty20 on Friday.

Put into bat, Pakistan did not get the flying start they were looking for and could not mount a late assault either against India’s disciplined bowlers who restricted them to 130-7 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

Australia attack potent enough without Johnson – Bailey

DHAKA (Reuters) – Australia will miss injured paceman Mitchell Johnson but their bowling attack remains potent enough to help them win a maiden World Twenty20 title in Bangladesh, captain George Bailey said on Tuesday.

The left-arm quick has been in the form of his life, bowling Australia to an Ashes whitewash of bitter rivals England followed by an impressive performance in the subsequent test series victory in South Africa.
