Getting sick and tired of paying through the nose for gasoline? You aren’t the only one. Americans unnerved by sky-high oil prices and a weak economy are looking for big and small ways to take better care of their money — from paying off debt to clipping coupons.
But some Americans are going the extra mile and making unusual sacrifices in exchange for some precious free gas:
*In Orlando, Florida, David Partin pledged to name his son after local radio hosts to win a $100 gas card as part of a contest.
*At the Shady Lady Ranch brothel in Beatty, Nevada, clients who spend $300 or more this month will receive $50 gas vouchers as part of a promotion to beat the summer slump in business.
How far would you go and what would you sacrifice for some free gas?

If I were to receive free gas for a decade I would give my vote to Barack Obama
- Posted by JoeI’d buy a Klondike Bar….oh…wait..wrong what would you do….
Anyways, on a serious note…I don’t think I’d name my kid….that’s just begging to have a teenager who hates you in 15 years, the brothel thing, seems like a pretty good deal. I suppose I couldn’t name anything I would do specifically, but I’d be a lot more open to ideas then I would have been 5 years ago. 5 years ago I wouldn’t have even done kareoke to get free gas….now I’m willing to wager I’d make a much more public specticle of myself given the amount of gas was right. 50 bucks of gas, feh, that’s like 1.5 tanks for me….500 bucks, well then we can talk..
- Posted by KettI wouldn’t sacrifice anything. If I can’t afford gas I won’t drive.
- Posted by JasonThere are many things from endurance to embarrassing that I would do for the right price, and lately gasoline is a pretty good currency, but I would not do anything to harm my livelyhood, and I would not name my baby after someone. However, I also would not barter off my dignity for a CHANCE at a gas card. If you want me to grovel, tell me what to do first, don’t put me in a drawing after I grovel properly.
- Posted by OscarWhat should we do in Italy? Here gas costs more than 1.5 €/liter (not gallon)!!!
- Posted by marcelloI haven’t had to go far. I just became a member of US Gas Rebates and now have $500 in gas rebates. Can You say FREE GAS? Get Started at http://www.Melissa.usgasrebates.com by the way you can make a few extra bucks as your getting the rebates. Now I don’t have quite the “pain at the Pump” that I used to.
