Airlines are discovering that fuming passengers who have been stranded, delayed or just plain piqued are increasingly letting their undiluted rage fly around the Internet, often from the confines of their cramped airplane seat.
Twitter, which lets people broadcast 140-character instant text messages to countless readers, allows the venting to be loud, fast and public, and the technology has put carriers — used to bad publicity as part of daily operations — even more on the defensive as they race to tame Twitter furies every day.
Have you ever been stranded at an airport, stuck on the tarmac for hours, or lost your luggage? Share your airline horror stories here — we promise not to limit your frustrations to 140-characters.

……. the only piece we’re missing in the airline horror story is Bella Lugosi in a tattered suit, slowly dragging his beat-up suitcase around with a deranged looked, while moaning loudly and cursing to himself ………. like the rest of us!!
- Posted by Fli N HyA month ago, I boarded an American Airlines flight from Miami to Haiti. The A/C did not work. An inside source told me that the jet was being deactivated at the end of August, and the maintenance of the air conditioning system was not a priority for the airline. To make matters worse, the pilots turned on the one working air conditioning system as we were departing the flight, leaving me stunned at their audacity. I am tempted to register a complaint against the airline for discrimination, and I’m a Caucasian male social worker.
- Posted by TysonTime to watch the movie “Airplane” (1980). — For more entertainment, take an expensive, crowded shuttle so you stand in line for hours while security takes away your nail clippers and wine corkscrews. — Once aboard the aircraft, be ready for cramped seats that recline into your face, smelly bathrooms, etc. — Spending the night at ORD Chicago was the last straw, nothing was open and many were sleeping on the floor, the armrests do not fold up. YUK.
- Posted by BillI have had pretty smooth traveling lately, but when I have wanted to change anything on the schedule I have had to pay some heafty fees. On one flight I cut off two stops and bought another direct ticket to get to the same destination since I had an earlier appointment that had to be met. I think that a regulatory agency needs to set up point to point fares that will provide a decent profit for the carrier. I am willing to pay more and know that I am traveling on safe equipment and that I have a guaranteed seat.
- Posted by f belzA number of years ago I was on a flight from Miami to LAX.
- Posted by naoma foremanA few people were with me and we’d been in South America
on another flight. We “emergency landed” in PHOENIX — where we LIVED. I asked to be let off the plane. I was
told NO. I argued that I was home — otherwise I’d have
to go to LAX, overnight and come home the next day. Well,
I persuaded them to let us out — we were at the private
terminal and not in the main one. I got my carryon luggage, called home and was home that evening. A little boy on the plane next to me was working on some figures. His Dad told me that he had figured out the plane would stop because they did not have enough FUEL to go to LAX.
We had come through a lot of storm and the flight had
been longer than usual.
I wonder why we were allowed to deplane???
What about Muttr.com ? Seems to be growing pretty quickly… It allows the user to speak freely and say whatever is on their mind, anonymously, and it feels great doing so!
Muttr is straight to the point, simple, eye pleasing, and extremely easy to use. It will remain my choice for quite some time now! Trust me there’s plenty of things I will always need to vent about lol.
