If the US really wants to stop settlement construction in the West Bank in order for a chance at peace, then it is time the US cuts off all money supplied by this country to Isreal. Its the US aid that is helping them to build up the settlements.

Netanyahu is said to have ab obsession with the Iranian question. The Europeans are clearly interested in increasing their influence over Palestine's future, so Netanyahu will obviously be willing to trade future settlements for a tighening on Iran that will lead to a collapse of their project an attempt to build an atomic bomb. The Americans do not however, look at the matter in the same way as the Europeans. They already have sufficient pull in Palestine, hence their message to Netanyahu is a clear Nyet - No Building. So the pseudo-problem will be with us for quite a while. The hot-button will not go away until the Americans recall that with soverign countries one deals diplomatically not categorically.
