Has the US walked itself beyond a tipping point in which candidates now have to inevitably pander to an increasing army of government and entitlement dependent voters if they want to serve in public office?

Or can the US still hope to wring itself back to the ideals of self-reliance, individual initiative, private enterprise and small government on which it was founded?

In short, will America submit to the kind of messianic, happiness-by-decree mentality which has historically stymied the huge potential of resource-rich Latin America and finally broken the financial back of Europe or will we, as voters, restore the principles which made our nation the example and the envy of the rest of the world?

If the latter, then we should look to the candidates who tell it to us as it is, in as harsh and unencumbered a way as possible; not to those who promise to take from others so that they, in their limitless generosity, take the power -and the taxes- to make it easier for those who would rather receive than create.

It is very questionable whether Romney has a larger base of support among anglo-Americans than among latinos.

Romney has the support of Empire builders and advocates of the status quo domestically. This is a small but very rich slice of the American people. It is the same slice that has bought the Democratic Party. There is no significant difference between the "two" Parties or between the two candidates. Would Romney really start more new wars than Obama? Probably not. By the time of the election we should be up to our neck in "commitments" to Syria. Which is really just more pro-Israeli policy. Poor Americans will pay any price and bear any burden to keep the gated communities of the West Bank filled with rich, US tax subsidized Israelis. So say "both" Parties.

The election is not really an election at all. It is a "choose your poison" ballot.

All the little people pay taxes and expect a litle something in return. But, per Romney, if you can't afford it, you don't need it, including health care and education.
