Next time you have trouble sneaking that extra bottle of rum past customs, pity poor Myrlene Severe, a Haitian woman who was charged in Florida last week with smuggling a human head. The customs people werent too impressed with her argument that she needed it to ward off evil spirits. Heres her story: Speaking of heads, if you can come up with a clever headline for Myrlenes story, drop it to us via Post a Comment.
My favorite odd voodoo-related item was about a musical greeting card that played “Silent Night” from the depths of a Jamaican latrine, prompting a voodoo scare that led to a cache of missing mail. The musical card was among hundreds of letters dumped into a post office latrine, found when a man using the facility heard the tune and believed he was the victim of a voodoo curse.
