Putting some teeth in cannibal conviction…
That German cannibal who had been sentenced to eight years for manslaughter has now been sentenced to life for murder, by a court which ruled the earlier conviction was too lenient.
Prosecution lawyers argued that Meiwes killed to satisfy his sexual urges but the defense team said he had acted on his victim’s request, a crime similar to euthanasia. Well, maybe not exactly like euthanasia… Don’t read it over lunch, but here is the story:
