It must have been like some kind of not-so-silent auction. Eight-year-old girl starts whining, and Daddy tries to bribe her with a Barbie doll. Then something goes horribly wrong — the whining continues, so the father keeps reaching into his wallet.
When the smoke clears, the girl has $625 worth of stuff, including 20 Barbies. Then she’s quiet, and it’s Mom’s turn to be heard… Here’s the story:

Execs at Mattel assure parents that they really did tone down Angelina Jolie’s plastic image before putting her on the market. Items in the original design that were later tossed include a vial of blood on a chain, and a set of 6 little plastic ethiopian kids.
