Cutbacks: a cautionary tale

It’s kind of sad. In this time of cutbacks and outsourcing, everybody is trimming costs. Some burglars in Germany, for example, making off with stolen computers and flat-screen televisions, decided to rely on public transportation to make their getaway.

That’s right. Unlike the glory days, when an expert driver with nerves of steel would have been waiting in a supercharged sedan to race them from the scene, these guys flagged a taxi.

The driver helped load their bulky boxes, drove them home, and left with a nice tip. Then he called the police, who busted them This is where cutting corners can lead. Here’s the story: taxi300.jpg
