Time Warner’s top brass once joked that judging by its press clips, some people actually believed its corporate moniker was “Beleaguered AOL Time Warner.”
More recently, some people have raked its AOL Internet division over the coals because of its plan to reposition the company to boost online ad sales.
Who’s laughing now?
AOL Video’s beta site finally went live this morning. Topping its HotList of videos — “Reporter Gets Slapped” by wrestler Dr. D.
“It’s a complete coincidence that it’s the hottest video. It’s based on the popularity of the users,” an AOL spokeswoman said.
