This is the stuff good sitcom scenes are made of - at least, you know, in the darker sitcoms.
A defense lawyer in Saddam Hussein’s trial has been castigated by the judge for FALLING ASLEEP during testimony. Just to put this in context, this is a GENOCIDE trial, in BAGHDAD, IRAQ, and the incident happened while a witness was recounting a GAS ATTACK!
For his part, the lawyer denied he was sleeping, and told the judge he had been ”listening on behalf of my client, which apparently is legalese for falling asleep. Here is the story:

- Posted by MellyHmm.. His list of crime is so long and hid case hearing is so slow that possibly the judge might fall asleep as well one fine morning and by delay any way Saddam will enjoy every day as a gift of his life.
