It’s why they call it a cell phone, I guess…
A month ago we posted an item about gang leaders in El Salvador prisons who were hiding cellphones in their rectums, and using them to organize criminal activity from the prisons.Now, Laura Sullivan of NPR reports that hundreds, perhaps even thousands, of inmates inside U.S. prisons have gotten ahold of cell phones, and spend evenings chatting away in their cells. According to the NPR story, the mother of one inmate went so far as to call a warden and complain about the quality of reception her son’s phone was getting. Here is the NPR story:
