Shoppers like the Zune. Apparently reporters like it even more.
On the first day of sales of Microsoft’s digital music player — seen as the greatest challenge yet to the iPod’s dominance of the MP3 player market — several New York stores were host to brand new displays of the pocket-sized gadgets. Close by were the gaggle of journalists eager the record the first reactions to the device. Behold the giant TV camera you see on the left.
At Best Buy in midtown Manhattan, for a while on Tuesday, reporters outnumbered potential Zune enthusiasts. But the shoppers were not deterred — several shoved reporters out of the way and still bought the products.
