Yummmmmmmmm…. Is that the aroma of fresh cookies? No, it’s only exhaust fumes - the cookies got taken away.
Yesterday, we reported here on a new ad campaign in San Francisco in which billboards giving off the scent of fresh-baked cookies were being placed at bus shelters, to give people the urge to have milk. It turned out to be a half-baked idea, after city officials said the billboards were a flagrant - or maybe fragrant - violation of procedure.
But here’s the funny thing. City officials also said they were getting complaints from bus riders that the cookie aroma might not be safe. Or, you know, at least not as safe as inhaling the vehicle exhaust that urban commuters are accustomed to. Here’s the story:
