Newspaper Web sites are where all the wealthy buyers are – so says a new report from Scarborough Research. In an analysis released this week, Scarborough says newspaper Web site audiences are more likely than average Internet users to be avid online shoppers.
Not only that, they spend more money buying things online than the average Internet user.
Scarborough examined newspaper Web site readers in Sacramento, California; Houston; Providence, Rhode Island; Orlando, Florida; and Kansas City, Missouri. In all those markets, Scarborough found, readers are more likely than other Internet users to spend “upwards of $1,000 online annually.”
Perhaps it’s the same $1,000 they saved from cancelling their print subscriptions.
