Bomb scare culprit worth $5,000 on eBay

This didn’t take long.

Like the grilled cheese sandwich that bore the image of the Virgin Mary, relics from the Cartoon Networks’ guerrilla marketing campaign for Adult Swim’s “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” has turned up on eBay.

It’s not much more than some LEDs mounted on a board, connected to four “D” batteries. But the lightboard depicting a character giving the middle finger provoked bomb scares throughout Boston on Wednesday. (Good to know the promotion was in nine other cities.) Adult Swim parent company Turner Broadcasting’s apology can be found here.

Bids, which started that evening at $20 soared past $5,000 the next morning. (The listing has been removed.) (Engadget)
