From Japan comes news that advertising stickers pushing instant noodles are going to be stuck on the shells of eggs. I’m sorry, but this kind of commercial needs to be stopped while it is in its, uh, embryonic stage.
“The chance of people taking the ads directly into their hands is very high this way,” said a public relations spokeswoman.
She’s right. You can’t make an omelet without breaking some eggs. But do you want your breakfast foods to push products? When you’re hung over in the morning and just need a couple of eggs, do you want to stare down at a beer ad? Do you want your big Danish pastry to tell you about weight-loss plans?
