This is why I’ll never be successful in the product marketing field. Hooters, the restaurant chain known for - oh heck, you know what they’re known for - is setting up shop in the Holy Land, opening a branch in Tel Aviv this summer.
What exactly are they thinking of? I’m not sure, but they guy who bought the Hooters franchise for Israel told Reuters: I strongly believe that the Hooters concept is something that Israelis are looking for.
Yeah, that sounds about right. It’s only logical that people who are willing to live in such a risky place which is so important to so many world religions are there because they’re looking for waitresses in tight tops and short shorts. Actually, our original story mentioned low-cut blouses and short skirts, but that turned out to be wrong. Steven Scheer reports:

Waitresses at a Hooters restaurant in Neunkirchen, Germany, November 18, 2005.

Dear Blog Guy
I find the stereotyping evident here to be irritating. Israelis are as human as anyone else, and some indeed are undoubtedly looking for tight tops and short shorts. Hooters is actually quite demure compared to the strip clubs of Tel Aviv. We don’t live here because it is ‘risky’ (not that it is risky) or because it is important to world religions. We live here because it is home.
