Bollywood stars wed in Hindu ceremony

MUMBAI (Reuters) - Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, one of Bollywood’s best-known screen couples, married on Friday in a traditional Hindu wedding in which the groom rode a white horse before the pair took their vows around a sacred fire.

Your editor has committed a blunder.  It is mentioned two times in the news that the groom rode a white horse before the pair took their vows around a sacred fire. For your kind information the groom always rides a mare (She Horse) and not a horse (masculine). This tradition is observed by Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims.

Thanks, but in my dictionary, the word horse covers both sexes: GBU Editor

Madan…

A “horse” is a member of the equine family, and as the GBU editor stated, the word covers all horses regardless of sex, color or breed.
A “mare” or “dam” is a female horse.
A “filly” is a juvinile female horse.
A “stallion” or “stud” is an intact male horse.
A “gelding” is a male horse who has been castrated.
A “colt” is a juvinile male horse.
A “foal” is a juvinile horse of either sex.
