Heat plus alcohol causes spate of Moscow drownings
Moscow has been sweltering this week in temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius (86 Fahrenheit). Meteorologists said Monday was the hottest May day in the city since records began.
Since when is 86 degrees sweltering??? perhaps the writer got it wrong. I find it hard to believe that this is the highest temperature ever in Moscow.

There are a number of sources available to support 86 degrees being a record-setting temperature in Moscow, although I do agree it looks funny to use the word sweltering: GBU Editor

Since when is 86 *not* sweltering? Especially in May?
I’m almost intolerably uncomfortable at 76, let alone 86. It was a shock to me that Americans set their air conditioners to reduce the indoor temperature to 78: at that temperature, I’m sitting in front of the air conditioner!
