Springfield’s across U.S. vie for Simpsons’ debut
NEW YORK (Reuters) - It’s the battle of the Springfield’s with residents in 14 towns with that name across the United States competing to be chosen on Tuesday to host the premier of the upcoming Simpsons movie.
I am writing because of a grammatical error. In an article I just read on Yahoo! News about the new Simpsons movie, the towns of Springfield were referred to in the plural with an apostrophe “s”, not once but many, many times. This may seem like a trivial issue, but it occurred too many times to count.

Actually, I was able to count. Springfield’s appeared five times in an online version of the story, thanks to a spell-check error. Understandably, lots of readers noticed: GBU Editor
