Quick quiz: with authorities cracking down on drunk drivers, a good way to avoid punishment is…
a) Always have a designated driver with you on evenings out
b) Learn to enjoy yourself without alcohol
c) Take public transportation
d) While the cops are watching the roads, just get hammered and come home in a boat
If you chose that last option, perhaps you are already in Spain. Police there say yacht owners in resorts have been found sailing home from parties to avoid being caught driving drunk, resulting in more alcohol-related accidents off the beaches.
Yeah, that sounds just about right. “Honey, let’s finish this fourth pitcher of sangria and then head for the boat, because heck, what’s the worst thing that could happen on the water?” Here’s the story:

- Posted by Shawn HendricksSame thing happens in Venice all the time. You see the cops complaining? It’s a double standard, I tell you.
- Posted by Shawn HendricksOdd. I thought Palma de Mallorca was a city on an the island of Mallorca. Who’da thunk it was a stretch of ocean where boats sail upwind instead of tacking? Maybe the ocean runs downhill there.
