FACTBOX: Recent events in U.S. coal mine safety
1972.–Feb 2: 125 miners were killed after a dam broke at Buffalo Mining Co. in Saunders, West Virginia, the last U.S. coal mine accident with more than 100 deaths.
My God, do you know anything about history? The 1972 event on Buffalo Creek resulted in the death of persons who lived along the creek, as a result of a dam breach. Some may have been miners, but in no way were 125 miners killed.
