Bush to address war-weary Americans on Iraq
SYDNEY, Sept 8 (Reuters) - U.S. President George W. Bush will address a war-weary American public next week to “lay out a vision” for the U.S. role in Iraq as he tries to sell his strategy in the wake of a crucial report to Congress.
About your war-weary Americans. The only people I know of who could possibly be war-weary are those who are doing the actual fighting. If you’re comfortable ass is parked on a sofa watching a football game or in a mall shopping for you’re creature comforts then you are not WAR-WEARY. Get it.
Jim L.
Attention Reuters!! Americans such as myself who are very concerned about our country’s security are NOT “war-weary”. We are, however, weary of you telling us that we are.
D. M.
The choice of words in any article is very important. Let me tell you what “war-weary” means based on a history lesson: Civil War, World War I and II. In all of these wars, everyone in this country sacrificed lives, lack of basic needs, etc. to support a war effort. When it comes to Iraq War the only people who are sacrificing are the soldiers and their families. I do not think that qualifies as a “war-weary American public”.
Wayne Z.
This was a very unpopular phrase. A number of readers wrote in to tell us they felt “war weary” was not an accurate way to describe the general citizenry: GBU Editor

Google map may break Canada privacy law
I don’t understand is there a law in Canada that requires me to get every person on a streets permission if I take a photograph? Being out in the public on a public street sort of negates the right to privacy. Anyone can observe you walking down the street to the cafe or to the bar, what difference is there if I take a picture of that street?
I can understand if Google was trying to sell your picture or my picture for a product. However there is not a time stamp on the Street View that tells you when the person was actually there.
Privacy is a good thing, but invisibility in public is unrealistic.
Just my thoughts

Isnt that a little off topic?
- Posted by K FAll thirsty war reporters, “Tokyo Reuters” included, yearn for the Pulitzer. Their infantile twists, spins and implications such as “War Weary Americans” demonstrates their ineptitude at writing, and an attempt to ridule rather than report. They couldn’t care less if a Middle Eastern resource hegemony is Russian, Iranian, or Chinese. Let’s do away with the PATRIOT ACT, GTMO, SECRET PRISONS, WARRANTLESS WIRETAPS, and all other forms of opression in the US. Truth is, Reuter’s Camera film is manufactured from Middle Eastern light sweet crude and would not exist without stabalized countries in the Middle East selling us oil. Today many seditious media conglomerates such as REUTER’S continue to thrive at the expense of our safety here in the United States. Where do their job recruiters find such duck footed propagandists? Choosing language like “The president denied” or “alleged Al Qaida members” or “civilians killed” is inaccurate, improperly researched, and seditious. Reuter’s knows perfectly well that the Iraqi militias dont wear uniforms, and either do the families they hold hostage while fighting Americans. Thus the term “civilians” abounds. Oh, yes, and now even one of the nations sage economists is under fire from the propaganda artists at Reuter’s. Alan Greenspan has been condemned for mentioning the word “oil” in regards to Iraq. Reuter’s couldn’t hardly muzzle the famous economist icon when he corrected them. And so he did by supporting the president’s attempt at preventing WMD from proliferating in Iraq.
“Poor Reuter’s Almanac”, as I call them, has become one of America’s worst life threatening deseases. Their lies and coaching of the youthful readers in this country needs irradication.
Now that I have set the record straight, I welcome YOUR comments, Reuter’s, should you find the intestinal fortitude to launch them!

“Moderation” in this case should be a reminder to all Americans that freedom of the press is stifled, not by our government, but by Condescending, arrogant and fame hungry propagandists such as the reporter teams at REUTER’S.

When the so-called “War President” Bush should have increase the military presence in Iraq and Kuwait. He should have turned his guns on Syria. Conquer Syria. This would have made Israel much safer. With Iraq and Syria out of the way Iran would have been the next logical move.
These two countries are the cause of all major tensions in the Middle East.
The US military might is a “paper tiger”. Talk…talk…talk…no actions.
The US will pay for this President’s adventure in Iraq…what a waste!
