***Documentary filmmaker James Longley’s “Iraq in Fragments” is set to premiere on Monday here at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. Longley says “not many people have a good understanding of what’s going on inside the country” and that most people are “missing the Iraqi perspective.” Longley shot 300 hours of film in Iraq.

John,Do you know if James follows Iraqi blogs? The sidebar of “A Star from Mosul” includes links to several Iraqi blogs that help to inform a fuller picture of what’s going on inside the country. For example: “What happened this week? And my #1 project”http://astarfrommosul.blogspot.c om/2005/12/what-happened-this-week-and-m y-1.htmlAlso, I would find it useful to my reading this News Blog if Reuters provided links to blogs written about this post. Thanks,Critt
Update: I’ve just learned that AuntNajma — “A Star from Mosul” is now writing for the New York Times.http://cyber.law.harvard.edu/globa lvoices/2006/01/22/ny-times-buys-up-iraq i-bloggers/
