Pulling out of Kyoto

Poor nations brake greenhouse gas rise: U.N. draft

President George W. Bush pulled the United States out of Kyoto in 2001, arguing it would cost U.S. jobs and that it wrongly excluded 2012 goals for poorer nations such as China.

It was NOT George Bush who pulled the U.S. out of Kyoto, but Clinton, who NEVER submitted it to the senate for ratification in the first place. Really, basic mistakes like that — or outright fabrications… it’s getting hard to tell the difference these days — seem to be increasingly common at Reuters and continue to erode your credibility.

Your article asserts that Bush pulled the United States out of Kyoto, when in fact the U.S. Senate unanimously refused to ratify Kyoto and President Clinton refused even the symbolic gesture of becoming a signatory. Bush simply maintained the status quo.
