Looks like rain…

Dallas looks like Seattle as rain doesn’t stop

DALLAS, June 27 (Reuters) – Dallas is looking a lot like Seattle these days.

In this article about the heavy rains in Dallas, you mention Big D looks a lot like Seattle these days. I’ve lived near both cities, and need to remind you that BOTH Dallas and Seattle receive about 37 inches of precipitation annually.

Terrible headline. I have lived in Dallas and Austin, and I live in Seattle now. I KNOW the what the weather is like in Dallas and in Seattle. Seattle rarely experiences torrential downpours. Similar amounts of yearly precipitation, but very different weather patterns. So, bad comparison.

Lots of readers rallied to the defense of the Pacific Northwest, objecting to a comparison which wasn’t really appropriate: GBU Editor
