This was common knowledge when Merv as alive. Unfortunately a large percentage, particularly the religious folks, of the population does not like to deal with reality. As for the person who said "shame shame shame", I would like to argue that being gay is nothing to be ashamed of. If anyone should be ashamed, it is this society that has created the "closet".
