Interesting you didn’t mention the two directors heading up the internal inquiry, Viet Dihn and Joel Klein per http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/jul /09/phone-hacking-scandal-rupert-murdoc h. Per Wikipedia, Dihn worked with Perkins on the HP affair; and Klein, while an NWS exec now also, does have some independent credential I’d think, as a lawyer and Bloomberg’s former long-time school chancellor.
