Comments on: UK will get QE2 – but may need fiscal help too Mon, 26 Sep 2016 03:26:00 +0000 hourly 1 By: pavlaki Thu, 15 Sep 2011 20:16:11 +0000 As an exporter we are struggling because our markets in Europe have dried up – irrespective of our low price, low sterling etc etc. At the moment Europe is closed for business until their Euro crisis is sorted. That’s why the UK is suffering and I am not convinced QE will make any difference. If they want to stimulate the domestic market then raise interest rates, boost sterling, cut imported inflation, force through lower utility costs that will result and put more money in peoples pockets. Inflation will drop and confidence will return. Just don’t rely on exports.
