		<description>Japan had put billions of dollars over the years to prop up the yen, with little result to show for. 

It&#039;s just an overly self-absorbed culture, 
which is becoming increasingly maladaptive with time. 

They were SO proud of their earthquake prevention, 
but the truth is, they failed in preventing massive deaths in the quake in the 90s, or exposing the shallow depth beneath their pride in quake &amp; tsunami readiness.

There is no excuse really, because a similar size tsunami did happen in the past. It&#039;s just been quite some years, but not that long along the geological timescale, I&#039;d say</description>
