Comments on: NYC plan needs Financier Bloomberg not Mayor Mike Mon, 26 Sep 2016 03:26:00 +0000 hourly 1 By: Acetracy Tue, 19 Jun 2012 18:52:15 +0000 Bloomberg’s legacy as mayor will include:

1. One of the largest increases in home owner real estate taxes in the city’s history. For example our little six story coop’s RE taxes went from $94K in 2000 to 385K in 2011. Though for Goldman Sachs and Yankee Stadium owners their experience was the opposite.

2. Failed attempt and ridiculous expenditure to try and lure the Olympics and build a very unpopular and unneeded sports stadium in midtown, of all places.

3. Personal friends and cronies put into extremely important city positions, esp. the Board of Ed.

4. Allowing his close friend Rattner to bulldoze his way into Brooklyn Yards against all local interests to build yet another mega complex that have proven such a disaster in other cities.

5. Transitioning the NYPD from a police force the city could be proud of to one that Mubarak and Assad would respect.

6. Ensuring that NYC becomes the playground of the 1% and a forbidden planet for the other 99%.

So much for handing over government to businessmen. If Bloomberg is any example, we will have quite a disaster on our hands if Romney becomes president.
