Otherwise, the carrier could put rival traffic of say Google and Facebook advertisers into the “bridgegate” slow lane, and offer express lanes to their ad and content associates. Also, carriers have significant user details and behaviour information to offer all their advertisers.
Vertically integrated lock-in “pipes” based on “essential services” do not make for an efficient, innovative or competitive economy.
