The ever-vigilant Dave Gray spotted this sticker on the back window of a car bearing the distinctive white number plate of China’s security apparatus yesterday.

“Welcome to the Olympics, please obey the regulations,” it reads. “Civilised driving gives a goiod city image”

That is simply an awfully distorted translation. The first part actually says “Welcoming the Olympics by adhering to the regulations” – which is quite different than your version.

That may well be, but my “version” is on the sticker in English under the Chinese characters….
