Maybe a PR person so he does not get caught up with the media and say something that hurts him. Phelps is an amazing swimmer, as are the other champions in other sports - most of which don't offer 8 medal-winning opportunities. I don't care much for statistics, but since many do - Carl Lewis won medals at 4 different Olympics over a 16 year span, if there were more medals available for the '50m backward sprint' I'm sure he would have won even more medals. Stats aside, he's a winner as are other phenomenal athletes (*cough* Usain Bolt). I respect his amazing accomplishments. Swimming is more challenging that any of the non-swimmers can imagine. He not only won the medals, but he set up an example of doing what you set out to do. His attitude on deck when he swam the relays with other swimmers is teamwork personified. He truly represents what an all-american athlete is or should be.
