I applaud Governor Schwarzenegger for this idea. I think more of our governments should be thinking outside of the box like this instead of just going the easy route of raising taxes. Here in my home state of Florida I know they just recently raised the tax on cigarettes in hopes of raising some extra money, as a smoker I can assure you that I would’ve been much happier if they had just decided to sell some of the extra stuff lying around instead.

Big up to Governor Schwarzenegger!

hmmmm... makes you wonder if they had moved quicker and dug deeper in the scrap pile whether they could have come up with some junk that would qualify for Cash for Clunkers. Arnie might have gotten some Fed money after all.

Good for him! This is a creative way in a down economy of picking things up. It would be wiser still if he banged some heads together on both sides of the aisle in the legislature and got them to stop dubbing tax breaks for movie and television production "corporate welfare". California keeps sending production everywhere else in the process. New Mexico is aggresively lapping it up. Deep, serious corporate tax cuts and incentives would really kick start California.
