Women who do it are especially unsettling because it defies their usual softness. Note the strong jaw on Palin. Something is off.

Trophy-taking is unnecessary, ego-based killing. Don’t buy the story that it’s the “thrill of the hunt.” If that were true a camera would suffice for the finale. The other line about thinning herbivore populations “for their own good” is belied by the need to cull wolves, etc. This is a wasteful, disrespectful, unbalanced activity.

At least show an animal respect by making practical use of its remains. That’s the difference between hunters and callous killers.

This has been going on for a long, long time my friends.

She is not a moral woman.

Big Oil and McCain will never get my vote.

Humans are animals after all, and animals do hunt other animals for food if they are designed to eat meat.
However, killing an animal for the sake of killing goes against the natural order of the earth. The cowardly slaughter of animals from helicopters shows disrespect for the creation and creator as a whole.

There were many hunting trophies mounted on the walls, and I was appalled to see that there is a GIRAFFE among them! A giraffe head and it’s 20 feet of neck! I wondered at the time, who the heck hunts giraffes? It can’t be any more sporting than hunting cows. But that was in July. I now know of the infamous Sara Palin and her sense of sportsmanship. I’m guessing that giraffe trophy is hers, probably hunted down at the local zoo and shot from the safety of a hovering helicopter.

I’m a graphic designer and have come up with the definitive slogan for the whole McCain-Palin debacle. I’ve posted it on my www.Zazzle.com storefront. Search for…

SHOOT A WOLF FOR JESUS
Palin/McCain 2008

Hopefully people will get the humor in this, but I guess it depends on whose ox, er, moose is being gored.

One would hope that her influence on McCain would be minimal, but then if she wants to be President, she might jump out one night and say “boo” to John in the hope of inducing a heart attack. 😉

What Sarah and her ilk do not comprehend is that our earth is a fragile ecosystem- but she doesn’t believe in science. Even the Pope (and I’m not Catholic, in fact I don’t believe in God) has now declared that ruining the environment and polluting and disrespecting Nature is a serious sin. We humans are stewards of the earth and we must be good stewards, not greedy and just use it all up and spit it out.

Wolves and other predators, sharks are a very good example, are critical to the health of other species, as the one comment made about how predators kill the sick and weak and humans only want to kill the big healthy ones. I lived among 200 elk in Northern NM and we were thrilled to see that there was at least one mountain lion in our midst. The lack of wolves and lions has caused the bison and elk to get wasting disease, brucilosis, that is similar to Mad Cow disease. That wouldn’t be spreading if we had more predators to eat the diseased animals.

What kind of “hunter” shoots an animal with a high-powered, automatic weapon from an airplane. You want to hunt, and I am all for controlled hunting – but you better eat what you kill – try facing the animal with a bow and arrow, then we’ll see how good of a hunter you are. In NM, we have bow season and it is very popular. And everyone I know who hunts here, actually eats the meat and I’ve been given elk steaks by my friends and it is very healthy too, not to mention delicious. But they aren’t killing the predators to have more elk for themselves which is what is happening in Alaska, and, they don’t just kill for the trophy.
