Controversial U.S. televangelist Pat Robertson has given his annual predictions for the year ahead, based on what he says God has told him. You can see a video broadcast of his 2009 forecasts here.
“The Lord said the dollar is going to go down dramatically … (and) If I’m hearing him right, gold will go to about $1,900 dollars an ounce and oil to $300 a barrel,” he said.
“What the Lord was saying, the people are willing to accept socialism to alleviate their pain,” Robertson said. Some U.S. conservatives have branded president-elect Barack Obama and the incoming Democrat-controlled U.S. Congress as “socialist”.
Robertson, a leading Christian conservative who once ran for president, made his predictions late last week on “The 700 Club” which is broadcast on his Christian Broadcasting Network.
Robertson’s predictions have become an annual affair. Last year he predicted a global recession for 2008 and said the oil price would hit $150 a barrel. For 2007, he predicted a massive terror attack on U.S. soil.

First and foremost prophecy is and has been this that or the other in the hands of those who make a liveing from such and therefore credibility is almost zero. IF YOU WANT HOPE don’t listen to anybody, anything, only to your own heart for thats where hope begins and Americas hope seems to be at the expense, in more ways than one, of everyone elses.

- Posted by MattYou would have a hard time not calling America a socialist country when compared to the definition. Our dollar (the fed’s dollar) is going to fall more in 09′. The amount of spending alone has devalued our currency greatly and the spending to come will push it even farther. Spending is only one piece of the puzzle for there is much much more. But it is nothing new. When I was young my grandfather told me he used to work for a quarter a day when he was young. And he was happy to get it. Simply, a quarter had more value then than today. America is not in the business of increasing the worth of it’s currency but quite the opposite. People are not concerned with what money represents just as long as they can spend it and until Americans regain control of their money supply it will always decline. Capitalism relies on the responsibility and honesty of the individual more than it’s laws. That is the basis for freedom. Until honesty is achieved amongst those that govern, we will no doubt have the same scenario. Choose your representation wisely.
