Be that as it may, the &quot;new Chekhov&quot; was not what Solzhenitsyn wanted to be.  It won&#039;t be what the next great Russian writer is aiming for either.  And I don&#039;t recall any film quite like &#039;the Russian&#039; War and Peace.  I think the budget on that is what actually drained the economy.  

They know, they just don&#039;t know what to do about it.  Sort of like all the rest of Russian history.</description>
