Like Barry Goldwater said, “you don’t have to be straight to be in the Army, you just need to shoot straight.”
The Pope should say the same thing to his diminishing flock: “You don’t have to be straight to worship God in a Catholic Church; just do your cross straight.”
With all the other pressing problems facing the World, surely the Pope could have found a less divisive issue to talk about.
Yet he wasted a chance to send us a unifying message — in the most receptive Holiday Season.
The devout will never correct the Pope, but Christ Himself is lamenting yet another missed opportunity.
