Lindsay Lohan appears in another mag — dressed

lohan3.jpgHot on the heels of receiving a flood of publicity for appearing in a nude photo shot imitating Marilyn Monroe, actress Lindsay Lohan is starring in another magazine — this time fully dressed. Lohan was photographed by musician and photographer Bryan Adams for the latest quarterly edition of Hear the World, a magazine that aims to help raise awareness about the issue of hearing loss and provide support to those suffering from the condition.

Her Monroe series was widely criticised. Taken by the same photographer who captured the now famous images of the late actress in 1962, six weeks before her death of an overdose, some commentators felt they were insensitive, particularly given the recent death of Heath Ledger and Lohan’s visits to rehab.

“You can’t help but feel you are looking at someone all made up for the grave,” wrote Ginia Bellafante in the New York Times. “For the 10,000th time we are forced to ask: Lindsay, what were you thinking?”

Her latest pictures are less controversial, however. Adams is the official photographer of Hear the World and has photographed Placido Domingo, Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse, Harry Belafonte, Bobby McFerrin, Common and Moby, among others for past issues. Each individual is photographed with his or her hand behind the ear to convey an attempt to listen, to hear consciously.

“As a musician, I’m naturally sympathetic to a cause dedicated to help people appreciate and preserve an individual’s sense of sound,” Adams said in a statement.
