Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has been known for many things but never his beauty, which makes his new role really stand-out – pin-up for Louis Vuitton.

The luxury French fashion house has chosen Richards for a new series of advertisements with the first showing himrichards.jpg cradling his guitar on a hotel bed. The ad, shot by Annie Leibovitz,  says: “Some journeys cannot be put into words. New York. 3am. Blues in C.”

Richards reportedly plans to donate his fee to The Climate Project, an environmental charity.

It’s not the first time Vuitton has gone for the unexpected over the beautiful. Russian leader Mikhail Gorbachev featured in a Louis Vuitton ad campaign last year.

Ok Keith Richards you know his face sparks a remarkable resembelance to Louis Vuittons collection of hand bags… Ok im sorry completly unecesary but at the end of the day the guy must be pushing 70 Keith you have starred in a Pirates movie and it suited you but this is something you can´t and shouldnt do… I tell you what if Keith is going to be the new face of Louis Vuitton then heres a suggestion from me Michael Moore should be the new face of Ralph Lauren…

To Mr. Gr:
Now that is indeed uncalled for. The choice is recognition of Keith Richard’s iconic value which is what LV is also. It is an artistic approach to marketing that should be lauded not laughed at!
Vive Louis Vuitton! ( not just because I am a fan of LV but I see inspired marketing…and there is nothing wrong with that… and KR is pledging fee to a charity! bravo KR / LV)

[…] The New face of LV A leather look exterior and carrying a lot of baggage — Seems the perfect choice !! Keith Richard’s is face for Louis Vuitton - Fan Fare […]

I love Keith as the face for the new Louis Vuitton ad — men will see the successful rock band musician and his LV bag lying on the bed as he casually strums his guitar and all will want to have the same luggage, and women will see a man who is ruggedly handsome and oozes pure-D s*x appeal and will want their men to have the same. This is the age of the Baby Boomers generation, and this 50ish Babe thinks he is absolutely perfect!

Now then Mr Reuben Tom Kee you clearly dont understand where im coming from… The younger generation is the future and that is the market LV should be aiming at someone like Coleen McCloughlin a realist/V.I.P would have been a much better candidate men love her for her looks and women want to be her for her business savy and looks, Not a rocker who has a less than perfect drug and rehab background sorry but a women would have been a much better suggestion in fact Christiano Ronaldo would have been better than Mr Richards and im a Chelsea fan, Also dont get me wrong Louis Vuitton is a great brand i have a briefcase by them and also key holder so as you can see its their choice of V.I.P not their brand.

2 words: bad choice. This may do over well with the men but when LV’s main market are women this is a step in a bad direction….
