Porn star turns on PETA

If animal rights group PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has been anything in its history, it is provocative. So the group’s latest bid to attract attention should come as no surprise. PETA has turned to porn.

PETA on Thursday said adult film star Jenna Jameson — author of “How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale — will appear in a new advertising campaign dressed in a black wig and pleather (synthetic leather) bikini. The message of the campaign: “Pleather Yourself”

The new ads will be unveiled on March 10, but PETA distributed a media advisory about the campaign on Thursday. In it, Jameson is quoted as saying “It is OK to be an animal in bed, but not at the expense of real animals…I suggest if people want to have a better time in the bedroom — then please explore the pleather side.”

Uhhh, okay Jenna.

I think the title should read “Porn star turns PETA on”.

The current headline makes it sound as if a porn star has turned *against* PETA.

I look forward to seing peta’s newest sexy ad. PETA is amazing at bringing attention to a serious and important issue (this time the cruelty involved in leather, skinning animals alive, torture and horrible living and dying conditions) PETA succeeds because they catch people’s attention who normally wouldn’t be bothered to learn more about this issue, it gets everyday people to think twice, question things a little more… i applaud PETA because they take on serious issues, but don’t take themselves too seriously.
