Tween sensation Miley Cyrus sang up a storm on the “American Idol” charity special “Idol Gives Back” but it turns out the Disney star is no fan of the most popular TV show (apart from her own) in America.
Cyrus, 15, aka “Hannah Montana”, performed two songs live at the Hollywood taping of the fundraiser at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre on Sunday and recorded a mini segment highlighting the plight of impoverished kids in Kentucky, where her dad Billy Ray Cyrus was born and raised.
But asked backstage whether she was an “American Idol” fan, Cyrus chirped; “The funniest part is that I am so excited to be here but I have never seen it. Never seen even an episode.”
“I think it’s something you have to really get into,” she explained, adding that she has been pretty busy over the last couple of years — what with her own TV show, album, tour, apearance as an Oscar presenter etc.
C’mon Miley! Even bad boy rapper Snoop Dogg, who also appeared on the show to broadcast Wednesday, said he watches AI from time to time.

um…all of you stop fighting lol. She has every right to watch or not watch and do as she pleases. if she’s rich and famous,well more power to her. Not watching the show does not make you ignorant, if anything it makes you smarter. lol I’m not a fan of hers, but she does have talent. And the fact that she can do all of that at that age…well how many of you can do that? lol. So seriously, people who say ugly things about other people are usually ugly themselves. So don’t be, do something worthwhile and something better with your lives. Just like people for them lol. sigh….

- Posted by AliOn a good night, idol will pull in 25 to 30 million viewers. Those are great numbers, but less than 10% of the U.S. population, so Miley is definitely not in the minority when she chooses to not watch it.

- Posted by LonVal, it looks like you only read the headline and didn’t read the actual story here. “Miley’s No Idol Fan” is misleading because she never said she’s not a fan, just that she hasn’t watched it. I only watch it because it’s the only thing my girlfriend will watch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. So who can blame her.
