What is the truth about Kanye as a rapper/performer overall? I will give it to you. Just about everyone on this blog is speaking from emotion. To really judge an artist you have to have bought their CD and have seen them live in concert. Furthermore, you have to have been to more than a few concerts in your life. Most people say a concert was good just because of the social aspect of being out in a venue with friends and family. Others say a concert was good because they were high and drunk feeling good. What’s the truth about the performance and music quality. I have been to over 50 concerts and seen all types of artists. I was at Kanye’s concert 2 days ago in Miami. The truth is that his music did not sound very well. It sounded like he had cheap equipment and speakers. Too much treble. Some of the ushers were plugging there ears. Jesus Walks and Cant tell me nuthin were the only ones that sounded good. Trust me, I like Kanye but he had very poor sound quality. Too scratchy and noisy. Plus some of his songs sound like that white boy rock n roll stuff. I was disappointed. He was better when he came w/Jigger a couple of months ago because Jay Z apparently had more high end sound equipment. As a producer he has few peers. As a rapper he’s a little overated and thats the truth.

To the idiot who said kanye west has 2-3 years left…”Kill Yourself” lol. no but seriously with this man producing some of the greatest beats to ever grace pro tools i thin you should bit your tounge at that asenine comment. He is a cocky bastard. He’s not Jesus, ven though he really does think he is. He is losing his gusto from the Dropout. But he wont ever be a forgotten has-been. 2nd any rap show in America will almost demand you to stand and pay homage to someone in some fashion. Either to NYC as a whole, Biggie, Pac, Static Major (Lil’ Wayne’s guy from Lollipop). Last he is right his job isn’t A performances, it’s to make classic soulful albums. I think he’s done that 2 1/2 times (Graduation was good, but not classic). He overreacted and needs to stop bein a baby about everything. But to haters who think he ain’t sh*t. Look up the definition of hip-hop.

I dont know what you haters are talking about especailly you chris willman, i attended the show in seattle on april 16 and i have to say that was the greatest show i”ve been to and kanye is a great rapper and i love him and support him. the concert was the best!

i read some pretty ridiculous comments so i had to post my opinion. first off, him telling the crowd to stand to pay tribute to his mom has nothing to do with his ego and everything to do with respect. the man lost his mother who is the closest person in the world to him, and 2 weeks later he was back in the studio making music because he knows he has a responsibility toward his fans and he has no time to feel sorry for himself. he could of, and i guarantee that most artist would cancel their tour to take time off with family and morn his mothers loss. instead he kept going and tours the world 300 days a year. he has an ego becauses he is one of the greatest hip hop producers of all time and he puts his heart and soul into every performance and song that he records. he expects perfection from himself and its frustrating to be slammed left and right because people cant stop and realize what he is doing for hip hop and music in general. he is probably the greatest entertaineur you will ever see in hip hop throughout your entire lives so pay some respect and dont give B+ reviews for A+ performances.

@jazzy, you’re an idiot. Of course he’s not the only person to lose a parent, (what a smart fuking observation from you). When he asks the crowd to stand up, it’s to get some energy to do the song which is hard to do now that Ms. West has passed, you don’t have to stand if you don’t want to, you idiot! He has the courage to still do his job, and he’s extremely great at it, you haven’t listened to his amazing tracks so shut the hell up. And the show deserves A+. In my opinion, he’s the best artist these days, he’s internation and he deserves all the acclaim, and he deserves to act a fool and go on a rant when someone doesn’t recognize or BOW DOWN as he says! Call me whatever but he’s my favorite, listen to songs liks ROSES, HEARD ‘EM SAY, GOOD NIGHT, I WONDER, HEY MAMA, WE MAJOR. The instrumentals are great, so are the lyrics.

Kanye is truly what the future of music should strive to be. As an “Not-so-young (Urban) Man * Take urban the way THEY use it* I appreciate his insight on life and the artistry in his music and performances. I have been known to defend Mr. West against die hard ‘pac fans. THEY only appreciate angry DOPE BOY, STREET LIFE, PIMPS with plenty of B’s and H’s. THEY want you to be a “BOSS” to be a superstar instead of creative!

Who cares what Kanye is like he is rapping about real stuff not some cash money bull! People need to get over his ego and let him live, he is one of the best entertainers around. Its funny how ppl leave comments about what kanye did at his show when they have never been to one. I just went to his show in miami florida lastnight the 6th of may and I have to say he is the best thing that has happend to hiphop. This man is a being on another level frm daily bloggers lol. He did his performance for nearly 2hrs ALONE no hypeman and the crowd was not once silent. Who are you to question what he does…worry about your life loser lol what do you have ocd or something? Kanye is a god among men. Best rapper alive, best musician alive. Sorry you whiny little people don’t like it, but if you don’t want to hear this stuff or stand up at a show, then don’t go. I’m going to his shows thursday and friday night and its going to be absolutely amazing, kanye is the g.o.a.t.
