Should “Sex and the City’s” Carrie and Mr. Big get married?

With the long awaited “Sex and the City” movie due to open in theaters around the world next week, there seems to be just one question every fan wants answered - will Carrie and Mr. Big get married?

sexandthecity.jpgWhile I have been lucky enough to see the movie, I have been sworn to secrecy by Sarah Jessica Parker herself after running into the actress in a bathroom at a luxury hotel in New York City during the film’s media junket. “You have to promise not to tell anyone what happens,” she pleaded as she stood in the bathroom entrance dressed in a one-shouldered Lanvin dress and Proenza Schouler shoes.

So what do you hope will happen in the film? Should Carrie and Mr. Big get married?

I don’t want to see the movie if Big and Carrie don’t get married. It will completely ruin the whole “Sex In The City” years for me. I wanted to go opening day, but now, I will wait and find out what happens…if they don’t get married, I will skip the movie. Sad but true! I watch all the reruns here in Massachusetts…twice a night. I have been a huge fan!!!!!! Couldn’t handle the disappointment and I feel that with all the talk, they are not getting married.

I hate to break it to you, but according to all I’ve read, Big leaves her at the alter and it’s in the very beginning of the movie as well. I heard that somebody else gets married at the end of the movie, but my money is on Smith and Samantha. I’ll still go see it. It’ll be a fun girl’s night out!

He will leave her at the alter, but will spend the rest of the movie trying to win her back. But it will take her 2 hours to decide if she wants to. But with a sequel in the works you may have to wait until part 2

I hope they get married!!!
It doesn’t sound as though they are going to, which will totally ruin the ‘Sex and The City’.
Can not wait to watch the film though!!!

I am a Sex and the City Junkie, for sure. I watch it every, every re-run here, too…….and over and over again…it is the bonding between my 21 year old granddaughter and me!! I am travelling 500 miles to go see the movie with her on May 31st…..please, please let Carrie and Big get married finally!! I will be heartbroken if they don’t…….and totally MAD..even for a reason………she HAS to marry him….or she will regret it no matter who she eventually marries, etc…ask me, cause I KNOW….oh, please let ‘us’ have good feelings when we leave………and may Miranda and Steve stay happily together….in spite of what happens. I say happily cause I want a fairy tale story and a fairy tale ending………Samantha can live without Smith even tho’ I love them together. Charlotte is fine with Harry and TWO children, so it seems………………please, I NEED a feel good feeling when I leave the movie!!!!!!!!

No, duh, Big and Carrie shouldn’t get married. Even though they ended the series with Big telling Carrie she’s “the one” it doesn’t mean anything. Big never wanted to marry her and I hope the movie does what I think it will, which is shed more light on what ultra b.s. marriage is.

I certianly hope they get married. It will be so sad if they don’t. We went thru six seasons of them going back and forth and it’s time for them to be together. It worries me though from what I’m reading that they don’t get married. I am still going to see the movie since I’ve waited so long to see it. It will be cool to see Samantha and Smith get married also.

I think they should definitely be together at the end of the movie whether it’s married or living together. The series ended just the way it should have with Big realizing he loved Carrie. Four years have passed and they are still together so now that there’s a movie… they aren’t going to make it????? To me that’s manipulation.. There’s no way she would have stayed with him four years and NOW.. they decide to get married and he leaves her at the altar. No Way! And honestly, is there any way she could ever take him back, after ten years and HE LEAVES HER AT THE ALTAR.. I don’t think so. IF that’s the case then this will be my last Sex and the City movie. For me it’s about Big and Carrie and if the producers got them together at the series end, then they should be together a the movie end! Just my opinion….

They better get married. If not, my little ‘pink’ box is going flying though my front window. I am not kidding you. Granted, I do think the much publicized flower beating takes place in the beginning of the movie. But I don’t get my Carrie and Big WEDDING, then SATC can say good bye to me and my money. I invested 10 years into these gals and frankly, I don’t want to see an angry Miranda that whole two hours..zzzzzzzzzz.
The only worry I have is what happens to Carrie that is so life altering?

I found a review on a website. Here it is.

I have to say that I’m a very big fan of Sex and the City and had high hopes for this film and i wasn’t disappointed, i loved it. This is definitely one of the best films this year, and anyone who enjoyed the series will love it. Right from the opening i was hooked and couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen. There are so many laugh out loud moments and also a few gasps in anticipation of what is going to happen in certain situations. I cant put down in words how amazing this film was, the cinema was packed full and you could tell from the reactions from the audience that everyone loved it and was happy about the outcome. The acting was brilliant as always and the characters and their stories were well developed enough to last throughout the film. I have to say that I’m so happy that Carrie and Mr Big ended up getting married, and a sense of satisfaction came over you when the film was finished. It was very well written and the dialogue was fantastic. 10 out of 10.

IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW THE PLOT STOP NOW.

SPOILERSssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss…

**Okay friends, last night my husband came home from work with the latest copy of Vogue and two tickets inside…Oh the movie..LOL…

The movie is simply fabulous..and while it may seem that Big leaves Carrie at the altar..beware, sometimes there are two sides to that story.

By the end of the film..

SPOILERS>>>SPOILERS>>>
Simply we see..Mr and Mrs John Preston, having a private ceremony..and afterwards sharing the moment with Miranda and Steve (who reconcile), Char and Harry with their kids, Rose and Lily..and Samantha (who has now broken up with Smith)

The moment when Carrie realizes that maybe it was not Big’s fault..and when they reconcile is (okay I am crying again..priceless..) The love he has for her in this film is breathtaking..

Long..yea..subplots, honestly a big boring..but the premise is this..we are a sum of our parts..and having love and sharing who you are with those you love (the guys) is life. Carrie and the girls bring the guys into the coffee shop for the ‘bite to eat’ after the private wedding of our couple..listen to what I said..their place becomes ..’our place’..the two worlds merge and they realize that there is room for all..Carrie grows up immensely..as does Miranda..

Carrie’s big loss..I think it was herself. She loses Big because she loses sight of who ‘they were’ in this preparation for the wedding..it became, MY day, I did this..never once a WE. Big did not jilt her, he wanted HER, she wanted the ‘wedding’ he wanted HER, she wanted the big deal..it was a misunderstanding and not listening..it was a hard thing to watch Carrie..in Mexico..but it was important..

So there you go ladies. I am going to see it again as soon as our bank acct allows..but the DvD better be out this Christmas..LOL. GREAT FILM..SEE IT and Bring Kleenex. Our crowd was sold out..all cheered and cried and cheered ..at the end, the ‘THANK GOD’s were heard a mile away, along with some sniffles, Mr and Mrs John Preston..fabulous.
