Disney says no to ‘Musical’ panties

mickey.jpgDisney said on Friday that it has stopped selling a line of panties for girls after parents in Britain complained about the message printed on them.

The  underwear, made for ‘tween girls, invited the the reader  to  ”Dive In” and was, according to company officials, themed for a swimming pool scene from the Disney Channel hit movie,”High School Musical 2.”

Ahh to have been in that product brainstorming session!

In that scene, “HSM2″ boyfriend and girlfriend, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, sing about their love and dance in and around a swimming pool at the country club wherezac2.jpg both of their characters work during the summer.

“Unfortunately, an oversight was made and the text on the underwear was used out context,” Disney said in a statement. “This product will not be part of any forthcoming collections and the remaining product has been removed from shelves.”

it’s not a surprise it was “taken” out of context.
You have to admit, it is pretty sad when there’s a re-call on children’s underwear.

lol, and to think what amazing role modles HSM2’s actors like Vanessa Hudgens are to teens!
Yep, if I was a parent the only that i’d be worry about is what kind stupid messages disney’s put on my kid’s underware.

haha someone wasn’t thinking when they came up with that line of underwear. How can someone make such a massive oversight

“Oversight” my behind, this is just another example of Disney’s morals being brought to light.

Considering we’re dealing with the mentality of a group who thinks that they can contact the HSM stars using a Reuters comments field, then they probably should have just brought them out. I don’t think anyone would have even noticed.

Disney worries about words on children’s underwear…but nope, no problems with one of the stars of HSM having nude photos of her showing up all over the internets. Bizarre.

You telling me Disney couldn’t see the sexual innuendo in printing “Dive In” on underwear for girls? Man, they need to hire some filthier-minded people at that joint.

I’m still stuck on some Disney ancient history. Didn’t they make a movie (I never saw it) about a whore who starts falling for a guy who hired her for a whole week? They go shopping together?? CUTE. And wasn’t that megastar Julia Roberts’ greatest piece of work? I guess I should be better informed.
“Pretty Woman” DIVE IN
