Which lifeline will she use this time?
Tina Fey is expected to be back reprising her devastating impression of Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live this weekend following the Alaska Governor’s performance in Thursday’s widely-watched vice presidential debate.
Actress and singer Queen Latifah has also been tapped to play journalist Gwen Ifill, who moderated the debate between Republican Palin and Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden, celebrity Web site TMZ.com reported on Friday.
It will be the third time that Fey has skewered the self-described hockey mom on SNL, which has seen its ratings soar thanks largely to the Emmy-award winning “30 Rock” actress’s uncanny resemblance to Palin.![]()
Fey’s Palin skits have racked up more than five million viewings on the official SNL website alone, and hundreds of thousands more have watched on YouTube in the last three weeks.
After Fey/Palin asked last week whether she could “phone a friend” while struggling in her interview with journalist Katie Couric/Amy Poehler, which lifeline might Fey/Palin use this time?
Ask the audience, maybe?

Palin for PRESIDENT!!!
That’s right. You heard me. I think we need her to be president now more than ever.
I’m not a Democrat. I’m not a Republican. I’m someone who looks at the people in front of me and looks at the issues and their responses. There is no doubt in my mind that she should be president.
Not because she’ll be good at it. But because the people that are so blinded by their political parties to accept just about anyone in the ticket.
I mean, come on! Just look at the way she carries herself. That’s not what a would-be president would do. But I think that the only way that people will see that is if she gets to run the country for a couple of weeks. Once she’s elbow-deep in responsibility and creates one disaster after another, maybe then people will learn that a gimmick to get more voters (which is what McCain did by bringing her along) just won’t do once the election is over.
Before she was brought on, I thought there was a huge decision to make. It was going to make me lose sleep. But now…I see there is no choice. If there was a way to vote against her instead of for Obama, I’d do that…but now there’s no other choice.
- Posted by LDPalin is a right wing airhead. She deserves to be mocked.
If you haven’t seen the CBS interviews, do yourself the favor. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/2 4/eveningnews/main4476173.shtml
She got away with her BS hockey mom schtick in the debate with Biden, but in a one on one interview with a surpisingly tough Katie Couric we get to see the real Palin and her astonishing ignorance and stupidity.
- Posted by alI hate liberals too! I’d rather MY tax money go to a war built on lies and corporate welfare! Go McCain-Palin!
- Posted by PambieSarah Palin is the non event of the twenty-first century! I always love to listen/read when self proclaimed conservatives attempt to defend her, here and elsewhere.
- Posted by Bob MacDonaldOh… and yelling! You always had to yell on the old SNL. Did they think that was funny, or there just weren’t good microphones? Dunno, but it was annoying.
- Posted by DavidBy the way, everyone keeps saying SNL isn’t as good as it was back in the day. You should try watching one of those old shows again. They’re horrible. They’re all personality and catchphrase and Belushi’s ego… Today’s SNL shows include a few mediocre skits as well as a lot of flippin’ brilliance. The news is better; the impersonations are better; the skits are better… there’s a lotta talent there today.
- Posted by DavidThis woman is a embarrassment to women and McBush spit in the face of the voter by choosing her….
Am sure she fine as mayor and maybe even okay as Gov’n - though reports seem to be coming in to the contrary-but she has a long way to go to be on the World stage.
They are a risk this Country can not afford!!!
- Posted by DocbKeep it coming SNL!
- Posted by GetRealNo way can Palin ever be allowed to even come close to being the leader of the greatest country in the world!
“Governor Palin personifies the goodness of motherhood, family, seeing the good in the face of adversity, etc. etc.”
- Posted by Vickie from FloridaFine - this qualifies her to be a great Sunday School teacher. Let someone who at least knows their job description be VP.
McCain’s VP pick is insulting to women. It’s really scary that some people are willing to think an obviously coached and scripted performance on Palin’s part is enough. She has little depth of understanding; she’s a highly opinionated person whose looks and surface charm have allowed her to get away with doing what she wants. She doesn’t think evolutionary theory is a possibility or that global warming could be manmade? She skirts questions and when pushed to do so (without coaching)is incoherent or clearly in the dark. I guess this is the level we’ve sunk to after 8 years of Bush.

I bet ya’ it boils down to this simple equation:
liberalism + distortion of facts/lies + exploitation + “humour” = ratings = $$$$$$$$$$$$. And know I’m absolutely right !
- Posted by jon parrenoHEY GRAMPS IF YOU CAN’T LAUGH AT YOUR DITZY VP CANDIDATE PERHAPS YOU CAN LEARN WHERE THE CAPS LOCK KEY IS SOMETIME BEFORE OBAMA GETS SWORN IN.
- Posted by BobShould be great! The “good people of America” need leaders who are smart enough to know the difference between American General McKiernan and a Civil War General who got fired by ABRAHAM LINCOLN (McKlellan) … more than 140 years ago.
- Posted by KnuteIn my humble opinion, her life is now on a new plateau! There is no way that Sarah Palin will leave USA politics if she’s not in as VP. My guess is she would run for the Senate seat (that Stevens will probably lose in Alaska.)She would win, no doubt about it!
- Posted by arnoldgreenThen she would run for President in 8 to 12 years. The first woman to win. Clinton is not going to be the first! But wouldn’t it be something, if two women run for the presidency against each other? Wow! Most presidents have come from being governors or senators. Six presidents never had executive experience. including Teddy Roosevelt who was only 43 when elected. Six presidents were between 44 to 49 years old! JFK was 43 when elected and Bill Clinton was 47. Gov. Palin is 44 and experienced. Six Vp’s have gone on to be Presidents. 23 Presidents have been Republicans, 12 have been Democrats. 2 have been Federalists, 4 were Whigs. 2 were dual Republicans/Democrats! 7 were less than 49 yrs. old when they became presidents. Reagan was 69 yrs old when elected and left office at 77. He was re-elested at the age of 73!! (McCain is 72.) No one seemed bothered by Reagan’s ‘old’ age were they! For 12 consecutive terms, from Lincoln until Taft,16th to the 27th presidencies, the Republicans held office. Democrats never held office for more than 2 consecutive terms. Adams won by 3 electoral votes, Hayes won by 1. Jefferson and Buren were tied at 73 votes and the ‘college’ decided to give it to Jefferson, so this years race could be a close one. (It ain’t over until it’s over!) Perhaps you might have a different point of view when you absorb these facts about age when people talk about Palin and McCain.
Tina Fey is a wonderful, talented performer! And Sarah Palin’s “performance” at the debate will not save her from future ridicule. Palin’s statements are weirdly confused, her down-hominess is plotted, stiff and rehearsed. “Can I call you Joe”, then later using the famous quote “say it ain’t so Joe” for instance. She is stunning to watch because it is all so unbelievable to see this invented, hilarious character in place of an actual candidate. Political theatre. She will be gone quite soon, I hope. Just as the joke has worn off and we can enjoy the historical moment of Barack Obama’s election.
- Posted by Lily LoringTina Fey should not make fun of Governor Palin. Obviously she is a communist or democrat or what is that saying — don’t weed someone else’s garden until you tend your own. Governor Palin personifies the goodness of motherhood, family, seeing the good in the face of adversity, etc. etc. to mock this is sad. Being a mother herself how can Tina Fey do this? I guess anyone in the limelight lets there head swell. At least Palin uses the limelight for good purpose, has values and defends the good people of America, even Joe Sixpack!
- Posted by Elizabeth FayCan’t wait to see SNL tonight. Love Tina Fey! I think Palin is in over her head and really hope Obama wins!
- Posted by LauraPalin for Prez?!?
Yes, the liberals are scared. They are scared that the country would actually elect someone to within a 70 year old heartbeat away from the presidency.
Scared that we might possibly end up with a President that makes George W Bush seem intelligent and highly competent by comparison.
- Posted by lordastralAw Shucks Guys, SNL is a comedy! They’ve been making fun of all politicians since Nixon.Remember Chevy Chase doing Ford?
- Posted by Vickie from FloridaTo all those who are convinced the liberal media is the only reason that Sarah Palin is not being portrayed as a brilliant, educated, qualified candidate - she bombed her interview with Hate Boy Hannity almost as bad as Katie Couric.
HEY I HATE LIBERALS,
FDR WASN’T PRESIDENT IN 1929, HE WAS IN OFFICE IN 1933. WHO WAS PRESIDENT DURING THE CRASH? REPUBLICAN HERBERT HOOVER.
IF YOU’RE GOING TO ATTACK SOMETHING, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT FIRST.
