I saw the movie this evening and have to say I enjoyed it. This movie was an eye opener to me on certain topics and a reminder of what I already knew on other. It is one thing to read a newspaper about people being evicted and it is another to see a family with small children in tears having no where to go after being evicted. To hear these hard working americans stories of foreclosure literally brought me to tears. To discover large corporations taking out life insurance on their minimum wage employees, and calling it Dead Peasant insurance disgusted me. These companies make millions off their employees death and dont share a single penny with the employees family, that makes me want to vomnit. This movie makes me angry, and I hope it makes others angry. We need to start getting angry and not allow this bullshit to continue.

Nobody is in a lather, Jim.

It is true that Moore reports the facts. But he only reports the facts which anger, and the ones which support his view.

It is good that people watch his shows. But then they need to look at the facts themselves to see what he may have left out. The only issue is if you watch his shows, and think it is the complete story. With Moore, it never is.

He carefully edits and omits to ensure his view is presented in isolation to other viewpoints. This is simply the sign of a good documentary-maker.

So please don’t be so closed minded. Do a bit of independent research. By all means allow Moore to inform you. But there is no reason you need to let him think for you as well.

I don’t understand why people get in such a lather when there are legitimate criticisms made of the American economy. Michael Moore makes some very good points in his movies regarding Wall Street, 9/11 terrorist attacks, health care, automobile industry, & on & on. If you’re so close-minded that you can’t handle conflicting information, then you need to seriously chill out and learn something about the world, cause it’s going to come crashing down hard on you if you don’t.

I’m looking forward to seeing the movie when it is released in my home town. He has to have fingered ACORN and the Democrats with their ‘affordable housing’ and kickbacks from Freddie and Fanny. Right? Otherwise it wouldn’t be intellectually honest…

Way to go, Michael Moore. But, all characters in a movie, including “capitalism” are ultimately only characters. The “capitalism” which was being “demonized” , was not in actual fact THE capitalism, and instead a pixelized facsimile of it. In the real capitalism the government does not bail out anybody. That’s the point of the concept. What we now do is selective communism and socialism, to the core — trillions worth of “partnerships/bailouts” to avoid actual capitalism. MORE than any communist entity EVER spent on ANY “social” programs. But we insis that it is all still capitalism. And we are encouraged in these thoughts. Maybe because our every means to understanding ourselves, and who we are, is tied up in this concept. We would be like birds without any air to fly in, without capitalism, Wouldn’t we? How could we explain any of what we do, and why we do it, without “capitalism” ? How could any of it even be logical?

well, Mr. Moore making money is that not the Amercian ways? Capitalism = Democracy in this country & everyone else who does not pray to this god = $ should take a look at their pay stub oops fired or lay off? too bad your companies just went oversea for cheaper labor, get use to it…welcome to capitalism- may the one who makes the most money win! Capitalism rules forget democracy! democracy is for the peoople what a bunch of hog wash- in good ole USA money rules!!!

I think any criticism of this film as containing “lies” without any substantive examples is nothing more than irrational rant of the low caliber of AM radio. It’s not like the financial disaster didn’t happen after all.

Except for the lies, distortions,half-truths,and things taken out of context Michael Moore’s documentaries are pretty good fictional comedies.It absolutely amazes me how liberals will blindly accept some other liberals unfounded opinions or lies and refuse to research the FACTS.Liberals suffer from one of two mental dysfunctions. Liberals are either driven by self-serving ideals in which lying is essential to cover up their true constitution and achieve their goals,or,they suffer from POLITICAL DYSLEXIA in which their perseption of the world gets jumbled up and they view everything backwards or up-side-down.

Yep. A good documentary.

But a good documentary does not always translate into a “correct” documentary, or “factual” documentary.

Mr Moore knows that his audience are angry at the current world situation. So he only reports half of the facts, the ones which he knows will add fuel to the fire.

His shows are not likely to inform people, because the purpose of his shows are to reinforce the beliefs of those who already share his views. So he simply informs them of matters they are already aware of and stirs the anger they feel.

And this ensures that people will watch his shows. Or perhaps he is honestly convinced of the truth of his own spin? Only he can know, I suppose.

Mr Moore is a skilled creater of documentary media. And that means he is skilled at manipulating emotions, through selective reporting of information. But that goes without saying.

And of course, he never presents a practical solution to the problems he shouts about. But then again, the point of his shows are to complain about things as they are, not figure out how to change them into something different, or what the consequences of such a solution might be. An attitude which is shared by most who watch his shows.

Michael Moore is dead-on when it comes to the effects of capitalism on the poor and middle class. However, I don’t know if he is driven to demonize conservatives or if he believes he is truly accurate to point to the Reagan administration as the genesis of capitalism’s drain on America. I propose that we go back to a point in time when we dropped the gold standard and started printing money without any credible worth except for whatever value the government put on it.

Wouldn’t it be nice to see our nation go back to making things of value again and stop this financial nonsense that produces nothing?
